Repotting the River of Dreams

The North Carolina Arboretum's bonsai collection features a number of notable landscapes, all of which suggest a different story sprung from each viewer's imagination. But the miniature landscapes have fascinating stories of their making and of how they came to be in our collection. This next video, another in our series featuring Arboretum Bonsai Curator Arthur Joura, involves repotting an iconic tray landscape --The River of Dreams -- in which the landscape is de-constructed and its individual elements are reassembled to create a new composition, which is then replanted in a new and larger American-made container.
